![]() Many manufacturers make the claim that their product "meets ANSI/BHMA specs". This is significantly different than saying that a product is BHMA Certified or Listed. To say that a product "meets ANSI/BHMA specs" simply means that the product was tested in some way - perhaps not even in a certified lab with certified test equipment. To have a product listed in the BHMA Certified Products Directory, the product must be registered with BHMA and regularly re-certified (tested) by an approved test lab on certified test equipment. PDQ spends significant amounts of time and money testing our products and maintaining our certifications. We maintain a world class test lab and invite our customers to stop by and check it out the next time you are in Leola, PA. You can feel confident that you are buying a high quality product, and that your facility is not being used as a "test". Look for the BHMA logo, and keep a copy of the BHMA directory on hand. This will ensure that the product you are buying has been BHMA Certified/Listed. BHMA publishes their Certified Products Directory. This is a list of specific products from each manufacturer that are BHMA Certified/Listed.
Product has been evaluated and listed for use in entry door assemblies rated for windstorm resistance in accordance with ANSI-A250.13, ASTM-E1886, ASTM-E1996 & ASTM-E331. These products are evaluated for their ability to resist the loads and stresses that are expected to occur during a severe windstorm. Ratings for single point cylindrical and mortise locksets are shown in terms of total design load in pounds force at the latch and, where applicable, wind borne debris impact load in foot-pounds. Ratings for multipoint locksets and rim exit devices are shown in terms of pounds per square foot design load and impact rating based on the maximum door size tested. Ratings may vary with door stiffness classification and/or assembly size. Application of the ratings of these products requires an engineering analysis of the complete opening design and determination of the applicable code requirements for design load and impact requirements specified in the applicable building code.
