It's specified for push/pull traffic doors on PDQ's 4200 series wide stile exit devices where access is controlled some other way, such as a separate keyed cylinder or access control device.
How does the 4P differ from the 4GW grip pull?
Both are pull-only trims with no latch-retracting function, but the 4P is a flat plate design while the 4GW is a bar-style grip handle. The choice is largely aesthetic and ergonomic, 4GW suits higher-traffic doors needing a full-hand grip, while 4P gives a flatter, lower-profile look.
