What is the difference between OEM and ODM manufacturing?
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) describe two different ways to bring a hardware product to market, and PDQ supports both. In an OEM arrangement, PDQ manufactures hardware to a partner's own design or specification, and the partner sells the finished product under its own brand. In an ODM arrangement, PDQ's own engineering and design team contributes to building a new locking or access control product from the ground up, alongside the partner's product vision. Which model fits best usually comes down to how much of the product design and specification your team is already bringing versus how much PDQ needs to help develop.
