It mounts on the exterior face and can be a lever, knob, pull, or cylinder depending on the access control needed. The 6W adds a lever escutcheon for wide-stile doors using PDQ's 6300 series exit devices.
Is the 6W trim compatible with narrow stile aluminum doors?
No, the 6W is built for wide stile doors only and is not designed to fit narrow stile aluminum storefront doors. For narrow stile applications with a 6300/6400 series exit device, PDQ's 6N narrow escutcheon trim is the correct choice, since it's engineered around the tighter door face dimensions of narrow stile framing.
Does the 6W exit device trim meet ADA requirements?
Yes, the 6W is ADA and ICC/ANSI A117.1 compliant because it uses a lever handle rather than a knob, so it can be operated with a closed fist and doesn't require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting. This makes it suitable for entrances along an accessible route.
