A tubular lock installs through two cross-bores in the door face rather than a pocket cut into the door edge, making it a simpler, lighter-duty installation than a mortise lock. The TJ Series is built for non-keyed interior functions and is styled to coordinate visually with PDQ's MR Series mortise lock for a consistent look across a building.
What functions does the TJ Series tubular lock offer?
TJ is available in Communicating, Passage, Privacy, Double Dummy, and Single Dummy functions (there's no keyed entry function), making it suited to interior doors like closets, restrooms, connecting rooms, and passage doors, or as dummy trim on inactive door leaves.
What is the "communicating" function used for on the TJ lock?
Communicating function is used on doors that connect two adjoining rooms, such as hotel connecting rooms, letting either side lock the door independently from its own room without a shared key.
