What makes the SD lock different from PDQ's other Grade 2 locks?
SD offers the widest backset range in PDQ's Grade 2 lineup (2-3/8", 2-3/4", 3-3/4", and 5"), plus five lever styles (Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, Memphis, Orlando) and optional high-security UL437-rated cylinders. It's the choice for non-standard door prep or an upgraded cylinder on a Grade 2 chassis.
Can the SD lock accept a high-security cylinder?
Yes, SD is available with high-security and UL437-listed cylinder options in addition to its standard 6-pin SCC keyway, letting specifiers upgrade pick- and drill-resistance without moving up to a Grade 1 lock.
Is the SD lock compatible with electric strikes?
Yes, SD's thru-bolt installation and standard ASA strike prep work with electric strikes and standard hinge preparations, useful when a door needs remote release without fully electrifying the lock itself.
What door thickness and warranty does SD offer?
SD fits doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick (preset for 1-3/4") and carries a 5-year limited warranty, with a heavy-gauge, dichromate-coated cold rolled steel mechanism for corrosion resistance.
