Product Description
The GP Series Grade 2 cylindrical lock is the toughest Grade 2 lock on the block! Its lever torque has been tested to over 3 times the ANSI/BHMA standards, ensuring it meets and exceeds your Grade 2 lock expectations.
The GP Series is complementary to our Grade 1 locks. With the same levers and rose options available as PDQ’s Grade 1 cylindrical locks, you can add these GP locks into your low to medium traffic openings. This allows you to match the aesthetic across your PDQ cylindrical locks!
The GP series is backed by an 8-year warranty and is assembled in Lancaster, PA. Contact a sales rep today to get your GP lock!

FAQs
What does ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 mean for a cylindrical lock?
Grade 2 is the ANSI/BHMA A156.2 durability tier for medium-duty commercial hardware; it requires less cycle life and torque resistance than Grade 1 but still meets UL fire-door and ADA operable-parts standards. PDQ's GP Series is Grade 2 certified with 1,500 lbf-in lever torque resistance, three times the ANSI/BHMA minimum for the grade.
What's the difference between GP and PDQ's Grade 1 GT lock?
GP is Grade 2, rated for lower-traffic openings, while GT is Grade 1 for heavy-duty use. GP shares the same Philadelphia, Boston, and Miami lever designs as GT, so a project can spec GT on exterior/high-traffic doors and GP on interior doors without a visual mismatch.
Can I use GP alongside Grade 1 hardware throughout a building?
Is the GP lock fire rated and ADA compliant?
Yes, GP is UL listed for 3-hour fire doors on single doors up to 4'0" x 8'0" and complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1 accessibility standards.
What warranty does GP carry?
What door prep and backset does GP use?
GP is a thru-bolt design fitting standard 160/161 door prep on doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick, with a 2-3/4" (standard) or 2-3/8" backset.
