Cylinder-only trim (6C) has no lever, knob, or pull on the outside of the door (just a keyed cylinder), so the door stays permanently non-operable from outside except by key. It's built specifically for PDQ's NightLatch (F03) function, commonly used on stairwell doors, storerooms, and other openings where the outside should never have a graspable handle.
