How PDQ's Hardware Secured St. Mary's Preparatory School's New Prep Building II

St. Mary's Preparatory School's 2022 campus expansion, Prep Building II, added 22 classrooms and collaborative learning spaces to the Orchard Lake, Michigan campus. PDQ hardware was specified throughout with mortise locks on every classroom, an MR199 electrified mortise lock at the main entrance security vestibule, code-required exit devices on fire-rated doors, and coordinated door closers, hinges, and flat goods across the building.

About the property

Founded in 1885, St. Mary's Preparatory School is a co-educational Catholic college preparatory school with Polish American roots in Orchard Lake, Michigan. The school's mission is to provide students with "moral guidance, discipline, and education to become Christ-like models of service and leadership."

The Challenge

Prep Building II, completed in 2022, expanded the campus with 22 contemporary classrooms and collaborative learning spaces. The project needed hardware that would secure every classroom opening, control access at the building's main entrance, and meet fire and life-safety code on rated doors. All of which were specified and sourced through a single distributor, LaForce, to keep the project on schedule.
